Pecan slab bench start to finish 18”x11”x40”. The piece of wood was pretty twisted and gnarly. If it had been planed complete flat it might have only been 1/2”. So I routed a level dado in the back for the base, then attached

Cutting tapers on the jointer. You set the jointer depth to half of the taper. This is a 1” taper so the jointer is set to 1/2” cut. Mark the board half way between the the beginning of the taper and the end. Mark the fence where the blad
